Fenster quartz acquired its name for the complex interior skeletal structure which has created many windows and chambers within the crystal. The name is derived from the German word Fenster meaning window. The unique formation is caused by internal and external dissolution growth which is the result of unstable conditions during crystallization. These chambers often trap water bubbles which glide within the interior. Light reflects from the interior planes creating dancing patterns of light as you turn the crystal in your hand. The crystals have grown in a very similar formation as a Herkimer diamond in combination with elestial formations. For this reason, these crystals are also known as Elestial Lightkeepers.

The energy is quite complex and high in vibration, reaching to the spiritual plane stimulating the third eye and crown chakras. They assist one to channel the pure white light of the universe into the physical world providing the opportunity for profound healings on both the emotional and physical levels. They assist with evolution of the spirit, assisting you to vibrate on a higher plane at all levels of your existence restoring energy flow and balance at all levels. It helps you shed old emotional attachments allowing one to move forward on their spiritual path. A crystal is considered self healed when a partial piece of crystal or a complete crystal has sustained damage, yet continues to grow afterwards. Self-healing comes in many guises, usually where a crystal has been severed from its original growing condition, but can also occur where crystals have been bumped and bruised too. A self-healed crystal can be identified by the intricate etchings and/or multiple faces which emerge from the damaged areas. These crystals aid in any type of self-healing—physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Self-Healed crystals are highly compassionate with exceptional support for those working to overcome strong emotional issues or traumas. The translation for Elestial is “Crystal of the Angels” and thus has a strong link with the Angelic realm. One may retrieve information stored in Elestials by running your hands over the etching of the crystal.
