The dome has such intense and dramatic coloring! The quartz has a deep smoky hue while the rutiles streak through the interior with a fiery scarlet hue. They are very close to the surface where they shimmer in the light. The base has several nooks and crannies with interesting linear formations. The surface of the dome is not quite smooth where some of the natural fractures meet the surface.
