Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass that is created when lava flows are quickly cooled with water. On occasion small air bubbles are trapped in layers as the obsidian cools, creating material with a beautiful golden sheen. The effect looks almost fuzzy in the light, you just want to reach out and touch it. When polished, the golden sheen is just stunning.
