Madagascar kyanite is not often found, but has a hardness that rivals the Indian kyanite. The blues are deep and rich and have an earthiness to their energies. The weight is for the group and the measurements are of the longest piece.

Kyanite is an aluminum silicate most commonly found in beautiful vivid hues of blue with a silvery shimmer to the surface. It is commonly mined in Brazil, Netherlands and India, each with its own unique properties. Kyanite has an unusual hardness characteristic; lengthwise across the stone its ranges from 4-5 Mohs but across the blade the hardness increases to 6-7 Mohs making it challenging to cut and polish.
