Unusual quartz formations has always been one of our passions, and we were blessed with a wide variety in our last shipment from Africa, including this beautiful smoky quartz cathedral from Madagascar. It's not the most immediately eye-catching piece, encouraging you to look more closely at it. The formation gives you the impression that it is double terminated, but in actuality it is not. Multiple terminations give the piece a beautiful multi-towered appearance. The surface appears slightly matte but in person it shimmers with a soft silvery glow. The brown hues are rich glowing warmly in the light. Nestled amongst the turrets are small chunks of black tourmaline. There are many patches of intricate etchings where this crystal has begun healing from contact with matrix or other crystals. Most of the back still clearly shows cleaved plane where it was one attached to the matrix, accented with iron staining from the host matrix.


This beautiful spirit has a warm inviting energy that encourages you to hold it. Although there are a few rough areas, and the shape is irregular, it feels good nestled in your palm. It helps to bring counter excessive energies in the higher chakras, interestingly strong in the crown chakra. It helps you to process the wide array of shifting energies around you, and counter some of the ill effects such as unexplained nausea, dizziness, and headaches. It brings an aura of serenity, calming anxiety and fears too. It helps you to find solid ground so that you feel safe to stretch your wings and explore the environment around you.
