We found just a few of these crystals amazing amethyst crystals from Baobab, Kenya. The crystals are a gorgeous mix of clear quartz elestials, some with highlights of amethyst and/or lepidocrocite. Their energy was like a beacon, bright and shiny, you could even say bubbly, a striking contrast to the energy of most African crystals. Beneath that bubbly surface is the strong beating pulse I've come to know with African crystals. In this steady beat is calm assuredness and deep wisdom. But the message of these crystals is pure joy. They bring in the light, illuminating dark places within banishing the negativity in your life. Their bright optimism helps to dispel depression and awaken the spirit to divine love and joy. They awaken the spirit and open you to the changing energies. They gently guide you to discover your inner talents and abilities.

Enhydro means "water within". These are crystals that contain pockets of pure water, mysteriously trapped in ages gone by. Water has been found in chalcedony, agate and quartz and is usually perceived by the presence of moving gas bubbles in the water. Very occasionally, there are pockets of water with no bubble but a tiny floating inclusion. Even rarer are trapped bubbles of oil.

As water indicates the emotions, these crystals can have a profound effect on our emotional life. In Nature, water that cannot move becomes stagnated - as emotions that cannot be expressed stagnate. Enhydros contain water trapped in very limited space, but the water has remained clean and pure for millennia. The signature of these crystals indicates a purification of the emotions, even if those emotions stagnated under conditions of severe deprivation.

Our emotional health is paramount. Both the Earth and our bodies are 70% water. Analyze the impetus for action and you will see it is emotional, i.e. motivated by the emotions. Any crystal which displays the properties of Nature are clearly connected to emotional health is extremely important at this time. Their uses are extensive. They are beautiful, mysterious and powerful crystals, which you will rarely come across.

A crystal is considered self healed when a partial piece of crystal or a complete crystal has sustained damage, yet continues to grow afterwards. A self-healed crystal can be identified by the intricate etchings and/or multiple faces which emerge from the damaged areas. Lepidocrocite included quartz goes by two names: harlequin or fire quartz. Lepidocrocite inclusions are fiery red specks that you can sometimes also find with hematite or goethite inclusions. Lepidocrocite included quartz is an uncommon occurrence that results in fabulously gorgeous, mostly small crystals; large fire crystals are rare indeed.

Fire quartz has a very bright, sparkling energy to it, and infuses us with vitality. Work with it to open your root or base chakra, and to encourage flow of Kundalini energy. Visualize that serpent of energy rising up through your physical chakras, into your heart. Infuse the serpent with love, and coax it into your crown. Practice this exercise in meditation with fire quartz, and feel the life infuse you!

It provides a beautiful "dancing" energy, which when activated, stimulates the energy flow on all levels. It can be used to stimulate the base chakra and to provide for a direct pathway between the base chakra, and the heart chakra; it can hence be used to direct and to intensify natural proclivities. It activates all of the qualities of the base chakra, the heart chakra, and the crown chakra, and provides physical energy and vitality to the physical body.

It further stimulates the healing qualities of the heart and the associated attributes of loving consciousness. It can also be used to balance the polarity of your body with the higher bodies and to open and balance the meridians of the physical body, stimulating alignment of the physical and ethereal nervous systems.

It has been used to traverse the gap between the physical world and the spiritual world, and can help one to understand transitions. It can be used in the treatment of disorders related to the blood, veins, mental acuity, memory, intravascular coagulation of the blood in the circulatory system, imbalances in the thyroid, and atrophy of the thymus. It has also been used in the treatment of depression, despondency, and to activate the will to progress.

Amethyst is the purple cousin of the quartz family, and many people are first attracted to the world of crystals and minerals by its beautiful colors. It owes its coloration to minute traces of iron creating hues of light lavender to intense violet purple. Amethyst has been used for centuries for its healing properties; in fact it owes its name to the Greek amethustos which means “not drunken”. Amethyst is said to have been named for its close color to wine and was believed to prevent drunkenness. Amethyst provides a gentle awakening of the crown and third eye chakras. It assists you through the dizzying world of new perceptions of the world around you.

It is also said to give strength and mental stability, and provides balance between one's physical, emotional, intellectual states. Amethyst is also said to make one shrewd in business matters. Amethyst is said to help remove toxins from the body and to help treat arthritis. It also said to be useful in treating a number of disorders including those of the digestive system, heart, nervous system, skin and hearing and to help provide relief from pain and to strengthen the immune system.

Amethyst may be used to remove radiation the body stores on the sides of the head...such as from computers, microwaves, cell phones, etc. Geodes of Amethyst are particularly good for this, just place the head next to it; you will then feel the radiation being drawn out. Place small pieces of amethyst on the 3rd eye and visualize yourself breathing in the color for total mental and emotional soothing. It's a very good technique to do in bed before going to sleep. It is an amazing all round healer and also a brilliant meditation crystal. Amethyst can be used for massage in wand, egg or sphere form. It makes a great elixir.
