Shimmering white veils break contrast with rainbow planes breaking into icy clear areas of clear quartz. The interior shimmers as the light plays with the planes and veils competing with the reflections of the lustrous surface. The exterior is speckled with small barnacle crystals present. Etchings on the surface are light, idly traced over the crystal while the base is more intensely etched with self-healing although there are still some minor bruises still present. A visible line through out the crystal, marking a change in physical characteristics marks this old soul as an earthquake crystal. There are a few bruises still present at the termination and around the crystal. The pictures do not do justice for this large self-standing quartz spirit from Arkansas.


He has amazing energy, old soul to the core. He likes to watch and wait observing what are the core issues are before beginning to work, although he may seem aloof to some. Rainbows occur when light is refracted causing a prismatic effect, usually along a plane or inclusions within a crystal. The refraction is often temperature sensitive causing the rainbow to appear and disappear. It is believed that these crystals exhibit the closest manifestation of pure white light that can be witnessed on the physical plane. Rainbow crystals are used during meditation to escort us into the realm of the pure white light and can bring depth and clarity to dreams, help manifest wishes, and overcome negativity to be able to love life in the present moment. A barnacle crystal is a crystal covered or partially covered with smaller crystals. It is believed the Barnacle crystal will help stimulate family or group cooperation. It’s also a good companion when having lost a loved one.

The etched quartz crystal can be recognized by the existence of abrasions upon the outer areas of the crystal. The abrasions appear to be a type of hieroglyphics. The crack usually appears as a fault line running through the crystal. These crystals have been very useful in working with abusive trauma from childhood. They work well in giving a safe place to return to while one puts the pieces of their lives back together.

Clear quartz is made up of silicon dioxide, the most abundant mineral on the planet. No wonder it is the most common tool in the mineral kingdom, as well as the most versatile. I like to call it the general practitioner of the crystal world as it works with all chakras. Clear quartz is also known as white quartz or milky quartz when it has an abundance of interior veils and planes. Often crystals will have a mixture of different clarities throughout the interior. Quartz crystals are graded on their clarity, luster, and overall condition of the stone, with the higher degrees of clarity being more valuable. Hold/gaze into the crystal, put your thought/need (what you wish to manifest) into the crystal, the crystal receives the thought (and the feeling behind the thought) then stores and transmits those thoughts and feelings into the ethers. Thus, even while you’re not thinking about that particular manifestation, the crystal is still putting it out. Thus drawing your manifestation towards you at a much greater rate than before. Power tools, you have to love ‘em!

Many refer to this process as programming; many books state that a crystal can hold only one program. They have just found a way to store terabytes of data into a single bubble that makes up the mist you see in the Quartz. My feeling is that Quartz crystals can in fact hold and run more programs than we could give in a life time! Quartz is one of the most flexible crystal tools around. It is very responsive to our intent, what you intend is what you get, to this point it is also one of the most powerful tools and should be treated as such.
