This is a gorgeous twin crystal from Nepal. It has a lovely smoky color and amazing clarity. The terminations show some intriguing etchings with record keepers and a rainbow here and there. The smaller termination shows some cathedral cascading on the outer side which is dusted with some white albite. Chlorite inclusions are scattered throughout the crystal, and the base is covered in self-healings that will one day become secondary terminations.

When we say high altitude Himalayan Quartz we aren’t kidding, these crystals are mined by hand at an extraordinary 23,000 ft! Most high-altitude quartz is mined around 10,000 - 16,000 ft. Our crystals are from the Ganesh Himal whose peaks lie mainly on the Nepalese side of the border, however some peaks lie on the borders with Tibet. It’s only a man-defined border that defines these as Himalayan crystals instead of Tibetan crystals. We have a beautiful array of these crystals including citrine, forest green chlorite phantoms, hematite inclusions and much more. You’ll see them referred to as either Himalayan crystals or Nepalese crystals in our listings. There is truly a profound difference in the vibration of the energy of these crystals. It is very high and pure, yet still deeply connected to the resonances of the earth. You can feel both aspects of the divine energy as well as the earth energy; it’s such an amazing experience. These crystals have been honored from before they were mined. The miners hand harvest the crystals with deep respect to the mountain and the crystals. These miners adopt the village they are mining near, making sure that young and old alike are fed and clothed, as well as providing education. These crystals are on the expensive side, but considering the care and reverence to the earth and the crystals, as well as the altitude and distance they have traveled, they are truly a rare treasure.

A crystal with two points on a common base is called a twin crystal. You can tell a twin crystal from two crystals that are simply attached to each other, by the fact that both parts of a twin crystal are exactly parallel to each other, and have no boundary between them. It is believed the Twin crystal can generate positive energy toward improving a relationship. A twin with a rainbow can be very effectively used to project healing energy into a relationship or to keep a good relationship strong.

Rainbows occur when light is refracted causing a prismatic effect, usually along a plane or inclusions within a crystal. The refraction is often temperature sensitive causing the rainbow to appear and disappear. It is believed that these crystals exhibit the closest manifestation of pure white light that can be witnessed on the physical plane. A crystal is considered self healed when a partial piece of crystal or a complete crystal has sustained damage, yet continues to grow afterwards. Self-healing comes in many guises, usually where a crystal has been severed from its original growing condition, but can also occur where crystals have been bumped and bruised too. A self-healed crystal can be identified by the intricate etchings and/or multiple faces which emerge from the damaged areas. These crystals aid in any type of self-healing—physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Self-Healed crystals are highly compassionate with exceptional support for those working to overcome strong emotional issues or traumas. A crystal that has pyramidal or triangular shaped symbols that are either engraved into or are raised on one or more of a crystal faces is called a Record Keeper (RK) or Recorder. These symbols are not easily seen and usually need to be searched out by looking at the crystal in a bright light while closely examining the faces. It is believed that the Record Keeper is one of the most sacred crystals because it holds the wisdom and knowledge of the universe. When a person is properly attuned to a Record Keeper, this knowledge is readily made available. This knowledge is ancient knowledge and contains profound secrets and esoteric knowledge of the whole of the Higher Consciousness. It takes an open mind and a pure heart to access this knowledge.

The term chlorite actually encompasses a wide variety of minerals, which interestingly does not usually include chlorine as you might think. It is in the silicate family and is associated with clay. It is known for its beautiful formations within crystals, usually as phantoms and often bright green in color. Chlorite can appear red, yellow, white, lavender and black. Sometimes it forms in small crystals and give the appearance of moss within a crystal. Chlorite inclusions give crystals a has strong anti cancer properties. It is a very good crystal for physical regeneration as it helps us absorb and use the nutrients we take in. Chlorite enables our body to receive and use more efficiently the energy of the quartz while quartz itself amplifies the energy of the chlorite. Chlorite included quartz helps you to work through emotional issues and to discard thought of self-judgment and harsh self- criticism.
