Hollandite inclusions form in groups that create a black star inside the crystal; these crystals are quite rare. These star formations are quite pronounced and in some cases look like spiders, giving rise to their nickname of spider quartz! These crystals are known for their protective energy. Their energy protects and heals, promoting new growth. These beautiful crystals are only mined in Ambositra, Madagascar.

The hollandite star quartz is considered the stone of protection and is the warrior stone for people like soldiers, policemen and firemen or persons that deal with dangerous or stressful situations or occupations.
